|
|
Hi All,
New on here, so heres a quick hello.
I bought a copy of FSX the other day but havent installed it yet.
I was wondering if my PC spec is going to be ok to run it.
Intel Celeron D 3.08ghz
2 gig DDR2 (5300) ram
512mb graphics card (256 - with turbo cache of 256 PCI-e Card)
Will it run ok, as a friend has a similar setup and struggles to get 12 fps from FSX where as with FS2004 we can expect to see around 24 fps.
Any advice is greatly appreciated.

| try it out - My comp, an AMD2400+ (2Ghz), 768 mb ram and 128mb Nvidia FX5200 can run it, but I don't get superb graphic and framerates. But there are a lot of tweaks avaible and Service Pack 1 is out. So I would give it a try. |

rossirep, Welcome to SurClaro :D
Your system should run it fine. However, don't expect to run it at max settings.
After you install it, make sure you get the updates:
You must install "vcredit" before you install the update:

Here is the update:

Also, check this out. http://blogs.msdn.com/ptaylor/archive/2007/05/15/fsx-sp1-preparing-to-install.aspx
There's alot of info at FSInsider also. http://www.fsinsider.com/Pages/default.aspx
Check and read all you can.

Hi Rossirep,
My specs:
AMD 2800+ ( Single core)
1024MB DDR-400 (Single channel)
128MB 6600GT (Pci-Ex)
On Medium Graphics (1024x768) , I can maintain about 24 FPS in flight and about 12-15 FPS around an international airport.
However, with all sliders on Maximum detail on 1024x768 the framerate drops as low ast 2 FPS flying over an international airport. (the same settings on FS9 would still get 24FPS comfortably)
I hope this helps put things in perspective. I think your RAM and VGA card should be fine. Celeron CPU's aren't renowned for performance, but I think you'll be fine on medium-high detail.
