What's in the yellow boxes RD.
I always thought that an apostrophy in a word made up for missing letters eg, math's= mathematics. English English. But then my schooling was just after Caxton wrote the language or was it Shakespear!!

Mr. Tomcatdriver has it in his post.

The only plural for "Math", is Mathematics. There is no such word or phrase as Maths..Math's...etc.

While the " 's" or " s' " does work, it depends on the complexity of how you use it. Whether as a noun plural, or a persons name as plural.

They say the English language is the hardest to learn. And it is. Not so much as speaking it, but also putting it as pen to paper.

And guess what my worse class was in 18 years of school....ENGLISH. HATED IT.

OK, then.

Everybody learned something new between American and British English. We don't have "maths", and they do.

And sonic is correct also, as "Math" being both singular and plural.

maybe up yonder a ways, you all talk like that. down here in the real world we just do our ciphers and call it a day. I was always pretty average at arithmetic, but that's just the way my brain is wired. Hard for me to concentrate on long involved formulae, but I can mentally image things and get close to right most of the time which helps shortcut the process. Mind you, in order to see things in that light, you do have to do well at physics so you understand what legos are used to build the world with.

There's a program called "Master Converter" that I have found to be absolutely invaluable for converting one kind of measurement into another. Why, golly gee, you can even convert angstroms to furlongs if'n you wanna. I never leave my body without it.
