I have had a problem both with a 727, and all the bombardier's I have downloaded. I try to put the gear down, even if my airspeed is like 195-210 and it says "above gear extend speed". I've looked everywhere in the cfg and everything mayeb I don't know what i'm looking for but how can I make it so the extend speed is higher? I can't even land the planes and sometimes it does work...I don't get it.

I don't normally change the "Manufacturer's Recommended Settings". This is because I like to fly within the recommended parameters. However, I did find the following lines in the aircraft.cfg file for one of my default aircraft. Perhaps you may wish to experiment with these settings.

I'll bet that if you change the "gear_warning_available" value to "0", you will not receive any more gear warnings. However, you are defeating the purpose of the warning system. 8) 8)

[gear_warning_system]
gear_warning_available = 1 //Normal
pct_throttle_limit = 0.1 //Percent throttle that activates warning
flap_limit_idle = 5.0 //Flap angle that activates warning at idle
flap_limit_power = 25.5 //Flap angle that activates warning at above idle

No I would normally agree, but I think there is a flaw in these aircraft models..there is no possible way the gear would be damaged putting it down at 185-195..by then you're stalling in a 727 or a bombardier and dropping like a rock... thanks ill try what you posted

didnt work...there's nothing at all in the aircraft cfg that should indicate gear not opening at any speed...just flap blowout speeds etc..

How about posting up the filenames, who did them, and where you got them.

This way we can take alook at it and their .cfg's and .air files, and see what is going on.

Otherwise, check the "First time posting" announcement. This will help you help us when you have a problem.

I reinstalled 2k2 and am in the process of investigating whether or not there is a way to change the gear warning speed. Until then, read the checklist for landing procedures and follow the speed instructions for that particular aircraft. It is not that the gear will be ripped off. Rather, at those speeds, the wheels will start to spin and vibrate, sometimes violently enough to damage things. Also, gear down at too high a speed upsets the airflow near the center of the fuselage which can be problematic, especially in wind shear conditions. I will post back with my results sometime this week.

RD, I took the liberty of trying this one myself, admitted it was in FS9, but I could find absolutly nothing wrong, no warnings, no nothing, made a perfectly good landing.

If you find the same, then it has to be somthing wrong with his install or setup.

I see the reference of FS9 a lot...which version exactly is that 2002 or 2004 or fsx?

I actually deleted the airplane and re-installed..same problem

2004 is more often than not refered to as FS9
