Dear Forum Members,

Am I the only one that doesn't like the aircraft carriers for FSX or FS9 or even FS2002 because they don't pitch?

Yeah, FSX did improve the mission aircraft carriers because they move, but they still don't pitch like a real carrier would.

Landing on a carrier is just to easy for me in FS.

Any suggestions on how to write it into the files to make it pitch?

Any help will be appreciated.

Methinks you are asking too much of FS9 & FSX......... Next it will be... "Why doesn't the cockpit smell real".

Lol Mel, Do you know how to make it randomly pitch the aircraft carrier at a maximum of 10 degrees in any direction?

Cheers!

I don't know of any way to do that. The carriers in FS are static objects, much like a land based runway. I would really hate to see a land based runway suddenly pitch up and out 10 degrees.

Lol Cat1.

In FSX, the simulator I am working with, the carriers are not all static ground objects, some of them in the missions move. I believe they are AI too. If they are, does anybody know of a way to make them randomly pitch?

Cheers!

You cannot make them move in FS9. As for FSX, it has to be modelled in. So right now, any carriers you get, will be static.

And no, you cannot go and make them to where they pitch or roll. The only one(s) that do, are the default ones in FSX. And not all of them have that capability. So build your own, model in the movement, and upload it.

And please, for the life of me, stop the "Dear Forum Members" thing. It is annoying as hell. There is no need, nor want, of anybody being formal. Polite, yes, but formal, no. The only thing formal about me, is I have underwear on, while typing this. :D

RD:

I hope that Groundsquirrel did not help you to pick out your underwear. He is not noted for matching colors.

PS: No, he does not play billiards in his underwear.

Isn't there a way to add something to the model?

I program a little bit with Just Basic, and there is something in there about doing random stuff, could you do something like that into the model file or whatever and have it randomely pitch?

Cheers!

P.S. Hey Cat1, did you fly in the US Navy?

You CANNOT get into somebody elses model and play with it. There are no programs or anything else to let you in.

The only way you could, is if the author sent you the raw files in GMAX, and all the associated files that go with it.

@ Hark.... Knock-Knock.... you there to help the lad.

Yes, as air crew, but not as a pilot.

I'm dealing with defaults RD, is there a way to do it with defaults?
I know you can do some stuff with AI routes and such, is there a link to something there?

Cheers!

No...

There is no way you can make any carrier pitch or roll. Either default or not.

And that includes AI.

Thanks.
I really have no clue about modeling, so if any of you are making a carrier, could you please think about the pitching deck?

Cheers!

P.S. Neat, that must have been fun to ride along Cat1.
