Yeh I know... another ILS question. this one has got me stumped though...

I set the Nav 1 to the specified frequency, During the approach, I can see the localizer set me up horizontally, but it does not set me up on the glide slope (vertically speaking)

So my question is, is there another frequency I'm supposed to set in Nav2 to get me on the vertical glideslope? what freq is it?

Thanks for help guys.

You don't need to set NAV2. You do however need to intercept the glide slope from below. Look at an approach plate and it will tell you what altitude you need to be at to intercept it.

you do not need another frequency for the glideslope, its all in one, the LOC and GS. The LOC is the White veritcal needle, the GS is the white horizontal needle. When you are on the LOC and GS, in the proper manner, the two white needles look like a cross, if you see the white needle moving down (GS), thats means your too high, if the needle starts to move up, that means your too low, use small corrections!! DONT chase the needle, otherwise, you will mess up the landing. The LOC and GS will get more sensitive as you get closer to the End of the runway, close to where the ILS station is located.

''You do however need to intercept the glide slope from below'' <Correct

Well isn't my face red!

I tried another flight and I found out what I was doing wrong... Impatience!!!!

The GS was always high, while the LOC was dead on... turns out I was WAY to impatient and hadn't even gotten CLOSE to the GS when I assumed it wasn't set right! as I got close to the runway, both needles came alive and the landing went without a hitch!

Thanks again for the help folks.
