I just spent two long hours creating a post for the Find Madeleiene McCann thread this afternoon. I was polishing up my post by adding a few screenshots and wanted to view what I had crafted thus far by hitting the PREVIEW key.
I received a server timed out message. :x
What a pain in the rear! I'm not going to even attempt to rewrite that post again! No freakin' way!
Is this due to a limitation because I am not a card carrying, dues paid member? Not that that would do me any good these days what with "G" gone missing. Or is it something on my end?
This isn't the first time this has happened! :x
Does anyone else experience this problem? Is there a fix? [-o<

I get them once in a while. If it happens while trying to submit a post, I quickly copy it, and try to reconnect. When I do connect, I just paste it back in the box. Sometimes it is still there.
This has nothing to do with SurClaro at all. It is a small glitch from the hosting server. Either too much traffic, or something else.
As to a fix, no there isn't one.

| ...And don't give up if you see that crappy 'Timed Out' window...hit 'Retry' or 'Try Again', or what have you - even if it's been awhile - often it'll take, and your post will go in. |

Too late now but you should probably be aware that if you simply press back on your browser you 'Create New Post' page should still be there along with your entire post!!
The reason why it happens (I've always assumed) is due to secruity if you've been inactive (typing dosnt count as active, navigation does) then the site will log you out. You dont want someone posting spam under your name do you?
Hope that helps, Ryan5252 |

Oftentimes while I'm creating a post, I like to preview the post as I go along, to make certain that the post looks the way I want it to. I've learned to save the post as a draft which seems to help. But sometimes when I go to Preview a post, it times out on me. When I'm previewing a post, that means that it's not yet ready to be sent on for all of you to see until I'm satisfied.

| I get those alot on my wireless internet, so I take percautions of copying all of my long posts before submitting them. saves me from the heart-ache of my work. But, like said before, you can usually press the back button. another problem you might get is that your account has logged you out for not pressing a link for a certain amount of time. Hope you can get over your loss! :) |

@ 7e7guy: If your above (in blue) refers to the loss of my dear wife, or perhaps the loss of my beautiful daughter on Father's Day (2006), God Bless you for your kind message!
The fact is, these are losses I'm fairly certain that I'll never get over. They are just too great, and made all too clear each and every day by the sense of aloneness I feel. However, when people, such as yourself occasionally drop a kind hearted comment, it does raise my spirits more than any can ever know. I wouldn't trade that for all the money in the world!
Thanks to all at SurClaro! It's a nice, supportive family I've found here.

Jaeg, if that happens to you again, you can always press Back and go back to your post.
Does it happen on most other sites? |
