I just got into Flight Sims.
Could anybody suggest the optimum Graphics Card that I should obtain.
My monitor is an ADI Microscan 19" and I am using Intel 4 1.6GH and 512 Mb RAM

I use an NVIDIA GeForce 6600GT PCI Express, on a 3gig rig with a gig of ram. I recommend the this card for any gaming applications.

I will throw my 2 cents in too... GeForce 6800 Ultra! Simply the best! PCI-X or AGP... hands down has the fastest frame rates and best performance over all others! But with a sticker price of $549.00... you had better start eating alot of salad... I MEAN ALOT!!! Just so you can afford to save for it!

I have personal experience with the 9800 Pro and 6800 GO...although the GO is at the slow end of Nvidia's high-end line-up, it's still smoother than the ATI. 256 meg 6800s are going for under 250 bucks at Newegg too...if you don't mind tinkering a bit, try overclocking a well-cooled low-end 6800 or X800...can often reach Ultra/XT speeds with little extra cash spent...just remember improperly overclocking can fry a chip, so read, read, read.
peace and cheese

I doubt you can run a high end card on that system. Your CPU will be the bottleneck. To run the high end apps for FS you need at least an AMD 3000/P4 3.x with decent quality grafix.

Just to throw my two penneth worth in. I use a P4 at 3.8 on a 800FSB with 1024Mb of ram and an ATi Radeon 9550 with 256Mb of graphics memory. Works well under any strain. Proberly a little too over powered for most things. Nut I do edit video on it as well.
