i have a RADEON 9200 seris graphics card and i know its not the best out there but its pretty good, but when i play flight sim its awful! the graphics are like something you would expect to see in a V tech i played aroud with the sizes in the view in the learning center but to get a good picture i need to switch to a mode which doesnt give me a full screen .... whats going on !!
Any help here would be great,
Cheers Sean, |

| Please post what the system specs are that this card is plugged into, and then be patient. The answer you are looking for will probably be from Spectropro, as he is our resident expert on these particular video cards. |

I have moved this topic to where it is supposed to be.
Yeah, please give all pertinent info on the computer type, processor, memory, and anything else you can tell me. Is your 9200 the 64 or 128meg version? They made both so I need to know which one you have.
Then, and this is the question that everyone hates because it must be asked every single time a graphics question is asked: Are you running the absolute latest drivers for the card? Get the drivers directly from ATI here:
http://www.ati.com/support/drivers/winxp/radeonwdm-xp.html?type=xp&prodType=graphic&prod=productsXPdriver&submit.x=16&submit.y=10&submit=GO%21
Do NOT then let MS upgrader site tell you they have a newer set for you to use. I can't figure out why it says they do when you have the newest, but it will. Just never use the MS driver upgrader for your graphics card.
Awaiting your reply: |

| Hey, except for the processor your system sounds similar to mine in performance. I have the 9200 and a new factory driver solved my worries. I dont have the link handy right now, but you can go to the ATI Technologies website and look it up. If you cant find it, I believe Spectropro has the link |

If your computer is rebooting, then you have a windows problem. As if that's anything new. LOL You will have to do a bit of research on your own, because I am way to lazy to go do this work for you.
Go to MS web site. Look for their technical support area. Do a search for fs9 computer reboot or something like that. You should find some articles on this problem. If you are experiencing it, then others are as well and they may have been nice enough to report it to MS. If they did, then MS will find the reason, fix it, and usually post the fixes on their web site. But again, you may search for 2-3 HOURS to find the MS fix for it. Thus, I am not spending 2-3 hours on it as it doesn't happen to me. 8) Some times, you just have to work for yourself. I will show you where the food is, but you have to figure out how to get it. 8) |

Found this link:

Good luck. Doesn't explain much more than what has been said throughout other troubleshooting topics here. Drivers, drivers, drivers must be the cure-all for every microsoft problem. |

;) you take all the fun out of it rick. hehehe
Also, please note, that viruses can be created to attack JUST one app. You COULD (probably not but you may) have a virus that is attacking MSFS. It seems that recently many people are finding problems with their fs9 doing really screwy things. So do NOT discount this possibility.
For the best anti-virus software and it is NOT free, get Panda. Panda is the company that gives the virus info to all the other companies that make virus software. They are the ones that do all the work to kill these things and then send that info out to other companies. Thus, if you use Norton or AVG or any other, you get the updates days, weeks, or months AFTER those of us using Panda get them. We get the updated every single day. You may as well, but they only send out to other companies once a week and some once a month.
SO, the moral of this story is, GET PANDA. Or, get roasted. I can honestly say, I have had 1 virus ever get ahold of my system, and that was my first pc years ago and I was using norton av. It was an annoying little *beep* and norton totally missed it. I got panda for the first time then, and it tagged it soon as I ran it. I will never own anything else. Why would I. THESE are the people the hunt them down and kill them. Why use someone else that also uses them. Man, wish I got paid by them for pushing their stuff, too. |
