| I was wondering if anybody has ever gotten fs2004 to work under wine emulator. It would be really awesome if it works so I can play it in linux. I am willing to try it myself but I do not want to install all the cds and then it does not work. |

| Darn it! That is too bad, I really was hoping it worked so I could use it in linux. Well, I guess I will have to go back to windows... |

like microsoft ever wants you to use a Free-ware product not made by them
or allow you to use it on a non-microsoft endorsed system |

| er-go, if you call microsoft they might be so inclined to SELL you something. Then again, as you said they dont want their products on other OS's.... so then again, they may be so inclined to just hang up. dont know, but if it were I, I would give it a try no matter what. |

I've gotta agree with Prop! Never hurts to ask. Who knows, you might even get what you want!

| I believe DirectX issues are causing it from working. |

DirectX is one issue. The other is the OS.
There is no way on earth, MS will allow another OS to use what it builds. That includes MAC and LINUX. To think they will, or would, is like asking Satan to pray to God.
Not going to happen.

| Actually, the guys over at wine have gotten all versions of directx up to 9 working by converting all the directx calls into opengl calls. I did a little of research now and actually found they guys at wine are trying to get safedisk copy program to work. This is the program that prevents the game to be run without the disk. Well, I guess all I can do is wait until they get that to work correctly. Maybe by then fs2008 will be out! |

Some people have reported that it would work very MINIMALLY.
If you want full functions, use Microsoft OS. |
