Seem to only get snippets of time here and there lately to work on this hangar's final templates and material creation and assignment.
Had a fantastic long weekend with the kids and only seem to feel like doing a few things at once on this thing in the evenings before all I want to do is read a little bit and hit the hay. They're back to school today, and I got a little further between errands and other real life stuff. All the unwrapping is done, and most of the templates (placing and scaling vertices and resizing bitmaps to 512 X 512). RD may choose to double their size to 1024's, they can always be reduced if it seems that the big maps are resource hogs once it's all 'in sim'. I left a bunch of meshes alone, and they will take 'all surface' textures well without mapping and unwrapping.
Taking a while longer than I figured (what's new  ) but they're getting done. Talk soon. |

RD, you have mail bud. I think I included everything you need to begin painting effectively. I forgot to include a 'Readme' though. All the actual 'template' style bitmaps are pretty straightforward. Where the map is just a colour with no template lines then it is just a 'slap on' style map that isn't mapped or unwrapped. If you need anything, including revisions within gmax or you need the gmax source file itself let me know. I kept the templates at 512 X 512 but you can probably blow a few up to 1024's without too much worry.
The hangar I included is right on the runway there at default Sea Tac.
The .XML and .mdl is included in that backup folder.
I only guesstimated the scale of this hangar...further scaling can be done within gmax before a re-compile or simply through the .XML file at your end....or Haun's.
I also included anything decent that I could find for images of this hangar for reference...you should get a good idea of how you want to approach texturing this beast. Let me know if you need anything, and have fun.
Thanks for the opportunity to dump some work on you!
I mean thanks for all the help!   8) 8) 8)
Let me know if I did that 'Yousendit' thang right.
EDIT: Keep an eye on the way the sunlight hits the different roof pieces - I can tone down or modify any of the specular shine or glossiness values if so desired. |

I have a major FU, on my desktop. Not sure what the problem is yet, but it won't boot, much less recognize windows. It won't even boot in safe mode. I am FUBAR.
Bottom line, I am down and out on everything. Both real life and sim related. Not cool. I've been working on it since Friday the 5th.
All I can say is, hold on, while I adapt my DT from IDE hard drives to SATA. May take awhile, and then hoping to copy/mirror my old hard drives, to the new ones.
Right now, I have no email, only limited internet connection with this POS laptop.
Sorry guys.

Hark babe, send me a PM with the link to the yousendit D/L. DUH, me, I do have both my Adobe photoshops on the this POS. So, yeah, I can do the textures on here. I also have FS9 on here too, but it is like.....naked and bare to my DT. For obvious reasons. LOL.
Still trying to figure out the email problem on this POS.
RD
EDIT: I have my email now working on this POS. I have the download.....standby for textures tomorrow night. |

Glad you got the download RD, and still have tools to work with, have fun. Once again, I can alter the source file if you have any whims.
@ Haun...I think I'll let RD send you off the hangar when he's done...textures and all. RD expressed interest in texturing this hangar early on so I've sent him my work to work with which he will pass onto you, for you to treat as you like (within reason :) )
We'll all need to discuss a few details later, regarding release rights that make everyone happy, etc.
I look forward to seeing the end product sitting at the airport! Talk soon. :D |

Alrighty Haun...RD's battling back to brilliance with his hard drive woes..so I've PM'd you with a short note and a new yousendit link to the hangar paint kit and the .XML/.BGL set.
Have fun, and if you have any questions, just ask and I'll help to the best of my ability.
You'll notice that you don't need to texture the tops of the office areas on the right and left of the hangar, they have their own planar right and left rooftop pieces in gmax that you add textures to....you'll see. Just shout if you need anything at all. Enjoy texturing this one, I had fun building it!
EDIT: Oh yeah, forgot to mention...if you look at the hangar in the sim and find the roof, etc, too shiny...let me know and I can tone the material properties down a bit in gmax, or send you the source file and you can play with it. |

| That's an awful long Monday smartguy. If you don't figure you'll really get to texturing this sucker would you consider putting it out there for someone else (not me, too busy) to try? I wouldn't be surprised if a few around here might have fun with the project. Ya never know. No biggie, just thought I'd rattle your cage a bit, lol. :P |

| SOLD! To the man with the ability and the desire. Did you lose the files with your hard drive crash a while back? I think I still have all the goodies on mine if you need a replenish. |
