Press "Alt-Enter".
This will get you back into full screen mode.
Welcome to SurClaro. :D

EDIT: After looking closer at it, is normal. What size is your screen while flying???? |

RD, I believe when it is windowed, in the aircraft selection dialog, you don't get a black screen on the border with a window UNLESS you are choosing aircraft or changing weather DURING a flight.
Otherwise, it looks like that.
On fullscreen though, you will get the black around it, but no window.
Read my edit that was posted before your post. |

| In your main Fs9 folder, there is a folder called "uires", in this folder resides the graphical elements that make up the user menus and backgrounds for the user menus. The image used for splashscreen "dlgsplash" is also contained in the "uires" folder. What you will notice when poking through the images is that only a few are 512x512 sized and the rest are much smaller. When you use a large display with resolutions above 1024x768 the user menus will appear progressively smaller. Gameplay displays should still appear in true "full" screen. Fs9's maximum resolution is 1600x1200, hmmmm I've never tried to crank it up to that res' before. If I do, when I close the program I am sure my monitor will probably want to make a bee-line to the bathroom to relieve itself! In any case, the user menus get so progressively small, because they can only be legible at lower resolutions, that it becomes a waste of video cycles. Once you get a powerful machine and make the move to FSX and Dx10, then ultra high resolutions become a "you are there" kind of thing. |

If it is supposed to be fullscreen, then no, it is not normal. Fullscreen on aircraft selection has a full black screen with that select aircraft in the middle. |
