Once again I come before to seek guidance you O mighty keepers and holders of the FSX Grail. Here it comes: I own a Level-D B767(I run FSX) I've got from flight1 software Co and I was wondering how can adjust my settings to balance graphics and performance considering that have this machine (not the best one B T W...)
HP Pavillion dv6815 Notebook PC
Windows Vista
AMDTurion 64x2 Mobile TL60
RAM in MB 4.096(installed) 3.070(system) 1.026(graphics)
Graphics and display Nvidia GeForce Go 7150
here's a link of my specs in more details.

I would run FSX on the lowest possible resolution with no light bloom and a small amount of buildings. IMO, resolution, light bloom, advanced animations, and autogen are all the most prominent factors of performance degradation. Of course, there are more, but the performance impact is only slightly noticeable.
Also, install FSX SP1. It VASTLY improves performance. After that, install SP2 for better multiplayer experience. |

| thanks for your feedback Sir, I indeed have installed SP1 and SP2 but it quite doesn't seem to do a lot. With the default FSX aircrafts I get good FPS but when I fly my level-d 767 it's horrible so I resigned to fly in the 2D cockpit to get decent graph and performance. So I'll apply your advices and revise my settings. What resolution you think might be of a good balance? thanks Viche12345... |

What is your screen resolution set to?
Your graphics card might be your bottleneck. |

Try 1024x768 and see what happens.
Otherwise, that is big for that rig/system.
