| i generaly land of center of the runway, often nearly of the side of the runway. ive seen in reality and on sim that landings are usualy dead center or slightly of. i can achieve this with ILS but how do you do it with non ILS aproaches? |

In my experience, when trying to line up with the runway visually......get at it far out and make your big adjustments and over-corrections early in the game, then make smaller, refining corrections as you get nearer the runway, where mistakes, over-corrections and ultimately, misalignment is obviously a much more critical issue.
And, of course, Heeshung's right, lots of practice. Get yourself a 'joystick blister', then you can pop back here and tell us how to do it. :D |

Many Simmers do not take into consideration the factor of the wind upon landing.
Let us say the wind is 240 at 10 and you are landing on runway 27. Now this means you have a 30 degree wind component of 10 Knts coming at you from your left as you come down the centerline of the approach and this wind wants to "push" you to the right
So what do you do ?? Set up your approach / landing so that the wind will not push you to your right. Do this by either rudder trim to make your plane nose point to the left---Into the wind-- and/or set up the approach in anticipation of having the wind "push" you to your right. Therefore always place your plane to the left of the centerline and thence have the wind --"Push" you to the right and thence land on the center of the runway.
As the above post says--Practice- and I am sure you will get it
Havew fun--Enjoy :D |

Thanks! That's some useful stuff there! But I frequently fly with little or no wind. HAH laazzzyyy
But I should try some challenges soon. |

| Even with gusty winds I typically land on the center-line. That comes from over 500 hours of simming. However I rarely keep it on the center line rolling down the runway due to 2-3 fps on the ground. |

Here is a trick that has always worked for me:
When you are getting close to the airport, find a tree or building which appears to lineup with the runway. Keep aiming for this tree or building until the actual runway comes into vview. When you can now clearly see the runway, switch your target to the runway and then take appropraite actions. 8) 8) |

Dang It! There IS a great KingAir/KingSchools free video library topic that (maybe CaptProp posted up some time ago???) deals with the crosswind landing procedure in very simple to understand terms (with a Cessna)!
For some dumb reason, I can't locate it! Ugh!
Maybe this will ring a bell with someone and help to get this one answered!

| it takes practice practice practice. and being a former virtual airline pilot. like i used to be. i could land a 747-400 right down the center all the time. and the same with the prop jobs now. i can land them right the center. :D but i have been in the flightsimming world for a few years. |
