Forgive me if I ask . . . . but exactly how does the current setup NOT run Fs9 at a more than desirable clip?

You never specified how well you want to run FS, because we can give you some specs that can get either 100FPS, or 30 FPS.

We don't know your computing habits well, the general programs you run, what you tend to do.

That information will help quite a bit.

I'm not complaining about how FS9 runs. I'd like to see anywhere, where I have said I was unhappy with how FS9 runs. Everything is set to max, and runs a solid 30+ FPS, or more.

What I'm doing, is seeing if I can make other things easier and faster, and/or more up to date, tech wise.

If not, then I won't worry about it.

For DDR2, many brands will offer great performance at a great price.

Personally, I'm a Corsair lover, so I'd go with a pair of 2048MB modules of Corsair XMS2 at 800MHz to go with the rest of your kickass parts.

Are you suggesting, that I should keep what I have, and not worry about moving up with the newer stuff that is available???

I would have thought, that this rig being 4yrs old, is out dated. Seems I might be wrong on that part.

Mine is from '04 as well. It's too much trouble to link to the places where I have described it so I'll tell ya'll again here. Just for comparison, my current (old) rig is:

P4@3ghz
1Gbyte of ddr dual channel
Intel D865GLC mobo 800mhz fsb (hyperthreading)
Liteon 16x dual layer dvd/rw with lightscribe (which is really cool as you can burn a grayscale image directly to the label side of the disk)
Liteon 52x dvd/cdrw
Two internal drives partitioned into 5 areas
An external 500gbyte drive for storage (usb2.0)
ATI xt9600pro128 for graphics
640watt p.s.
Saitek ST290pro controller
Logitech marble mouse and memorex keyboard for inputs
Windows XP home

There is one issue with this, the MB is not an SLi MB as it does not have a nVidia chipset. Solution is to either drop the SLi requirement or go with the Gigabyte board heeshung (I think it was him) mentioned on page two.

Prices were current as to the date at the top, and this does include software and monitor that is above and beyond what you have mentioned.

Huh? That doesn't make sense. You're spending all that money and getting just ONE GTX280?

Save $700 on the CPU, and buy at least one more GTX280.

Don't listen to him.

nVIDIA models are way hotter.

Knock it off clowns

OK, one last thing, and I think I am done. But first, I have a problem. I know my MB is an A7N8X.... But through Belarc Advisor, it says it's an A7N8X REV1.xx, and not an A7N8X Deluxe, as I was told it was.

And the info I find on it, really doesn't tell me anything, as for specs on it. I know it's a socket 939, from the CPU.

I am very seriously considering on getting this CPU (link below). But I want to make sure, it will take full advantage of the FSB of the MB.

As well, another pic, of what I have, from the Belarc Advisor.

Let me know what you think, and please, do some checking on what I have (?), and whether or not, its compatible, and worth it.

Current CPU: http://www.pcstats.com/articleview.cfm?articleID=1235

New CPU Link (scroll up, to the top of the page). http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1649954&csid=ITD&body=MAIN#detailspecs

Thanks in advance, and sorry, if I'm not that techno savvy.
