The Opteron is better than your current, as it is dual core.

It will not compare as much up to the current Intel C2D/C2Q's.

Some of your components will be bottleneck, such as the RAM.

If I do get the Opteron, I will upgrade the RAM.

Give me alittle credit, I know if one thing is modified, that I know that other things need to be upgraded as well, to take advantage of it.

It's not so much the size of the RAM that's the bottleneck, it's more the speed/timings.

But since you already run FS well, I don't see the need.

Thanks guys for the info and help.

I've decided to keep things the way they are, and not upgrade.

But I do have to be honest. I have been peaking at the Area-51, from alienware. When all was said and done, it would have been $2,350. I looked at the ALX, but decided that was wayyyyy tooo much, for what I need a PC to do. But man, bragging rights, would've went to another level.

Bottom line: I'm happy with what I have, and it performs flawlessly, no matter what I throw at it. So I am leaving it alone, till next July.

Thanks again all.
