Hi All
This has probably been around before but I still need to know. Can anyone tell me if my FS9 payware collection will work with FSX SP1. It seems a total waste of my money if they don't.
Many Thanks |

Without knowing how old they are, and what they are.... we have no way of knowing, some later fs9 creations will work with FSX,,,,, I can only suggest you try them, but be ready to remove them if they dont.

Aircraft are easily removed, but some gauges and effect could cause a problem, I suggest you make a note which ones to place in the relevent folders, just in case you need to remove them later.
Just make sure you dont remove any Default Aircraft, then you will have a problem

Many Thanks Mel. Will try to keep a note, but some have their own install program so could be a tad difficult.

the key to the auto installers is go to your FSX main folder, create a new folder called "Downloaded Planes and Programs" this is where you can save the download.zip's and also run the autoinstaller back to this folder so that you can see what it is that it is trying to install. then you can simply drag and drop the relavent info to where it is supposed to be and install it that way, or just re-run the autoinsaller this time to the FSX Main Folder. (you have a copy in the Downloaded Planes and Programs so if it dont work, then you know what needs to be deleted).
hope this helps |

Wouldn't this method cause licensing problems with some payware that make changes to the registry upon installation? |

Actually, it doesn't.
I keep a separate folder for auto installers. When I get one, I send it there, and check out what is inside it. And then, move the necessary files to run it, to where they belong.
Most auto installers, even payware, don't have registry/licensing codes. If they do, you will see it, in that folder.
