I have been playing around with PHP and it's ability to read text files.
I got bored and created a very basic php page that outputs the contents of the logbook. Since I just reinstalled FS, my logbook is quite small, but it has enough to be able to parse the logbook out. Playing around with the FS9.CFG file, I was able to set it as the "News" page in the default screen.
I am wondering a couple of things:
(a) How many people actually use the default FS9 Logbook?
(b) Would someone with a large logbook be willing to post it so I can test to see if the logic that I used works for multiple logbooks?
(c) If I were to create a simple install package with apache(webserver) and php, would you use it?
Here's a screenshot of it running in Firefox. I told you it was very basic with no styling (yet). |
