|
Hi all
I am having problems. When landing my gulf stream IV. Every time I get on the ground and start to taxi to the gate i get about half way there an the nose gear colapses. i am taxing at 14 knts max and turning at no more than 5 knots so i dont think that is the problem.
Any thoughts on this problem
Also I am wornding if this could be a problem with to many flight hours. I am currently flying around the world. and and have been using the save flight option. I do not have FS maintanance installed
Thanks all

does this problem happen with any other craft? At any other airports with the gulfstream ???
Where did you get your GulfStream (link if you could) could be something wrong in the modeling, and other developers here could look at it possibly and tell better if they had your craft. |

Any excess bouncing, or a rough ride at all before the nose gear gives out?
Are you turning hard when the nose gear collapses?
How exactly is the nose gear collapse represented in the sim? Does it seem like the gear buries in the runway and the nose of the plane scrapes onto the ground?
Maybe I'll find and try your plane....to see if I experience the same problem.
Best of luck. |

Yeah, or at least the name of the .ZIP file....I found the FS2002 Gulfstreams by Sasala on Flightsim.com for FS2002, but there are several versions ...so we need some help here. Also, I don't have FS2002, soooo the aircraft may act different in FS2004!
http://www.flightsim.com/file.php?cm=INDEXCALL&sPos=20
....Is where I found the Gulfstreams.
Also, a tidbit....I have never heard of any 'fatigue' simulated in FS...there are a whack of things you can have fail altogether, but I seriously doubt there is any accumulative fatigue being simulated here...so your flight hours are not an issue. 'Aircraft stress causes damage' is a different issue, I believe.
Now, damage is a different issue....FS simulates damage somewhat decently. If you wreck your gear upon touchdown, that gear will sink into the runway to simulate strut failure or whatever you want to call it. It's usually pretty immediate though....you land badly and the gear dies with a bad sound, and you skid along on your nose or belly, complete with an embarrassing scraping sound.
But to have the nose gear buckle while taxiing sounds weird. |

Okay, you posted while I was writing.....if you have excessive bouncing on a taxiway or runway, then it just might be some iffy contact point parameters, as set in the aircraft.cfg file. It's one thing to lose your gear while booting along on the grass or a rougher surface, but you shouldn't get gear failure like that while on a good surface.
I would consider finding a better model to be honest. |
