Hi,

I have downloaded several aircraft for my sons FS 2004. Some of them work ok, some don't work at all and some do not have the right panels and sounds.
On the ones that have you add the panels and sound folders to the FS subfolders, I tried to load them in. I do not have a "panel" subfolder, only a "gauges" subfolder. I have a "sounds" subfolder and I have added the add-on sounds folder to it, but it doesn't work either. For example, I loaded a FedEx 7e7-800 that looked ok, but it had the Cessna sounds and panel.
I was wondering why I might be having such inconsistent luck when adding aircraft to my FS 2004.

Thanks for any help.

Bill

Bill,

It's difficult to tell what the problem is at this early stage, is it possible you could supply the link to the sites where you downloaded some of these aircraft, i'm sure there is a simple explanation, and we can get your a/c functioning perfectly.

BTW........ Welcome to Surclaro

Mel.

PS. Your post is fine where it is.

Thanks, Mel.

The aircraft is on Surclaro. Here is a copy of the page. I have had the same problem with multiple a/c.

Thanks.

I do not know how to add an attachment or url. I tried, it did not work.
It is fedex 7e7 under fs2004 airliners.

Bill,

Can you confirm this is the one: http://www.surclaro.com/download.php?query=fedex+7e7&op=search&cid=18

If it is, then unfortunatly it's not a very good model, and I can confirm the panel is heap of rubbish. wrong aircraft, and no gauges.

If you specifically want a FedEx aircraft, then I could spend some time and find you a much better model, are you bothered about the type of aircraft ?

Thanks mel.

I thought that I was the problem, since I am not very good at computers (as you have probably guessed).

The ironic thing is is that I'm an airline pilot and flying the real thing can sometimes be easier than installing these.

My son wanted a Fedex plane, so I guess we can try to find other a/c. Any ideas on any other airliners that are easy to install and work well.

Thank you very much for your time.

Bill

Zipped up, it's only 2.64mb, it's freeware from Avsim.com

If it makes things easier for you, I can email it direct to you.

Send me a PM with your email address, dont print it here.

Sometimes, there is already a really good panel and/or sound kit available for a certain aircraft and/or engine and that usually comes after the aircraft is all packaged up and released. The aircraft "author" may tell you that they recommend XYZ for this or that which is why it was not included with the aircraft.
There are some sounds available for the Rolls engines and some for the Prat engines, not specific to the 7E7 but they describe what type thay are for in the packs.
