"End Fire" Glideslope antenna array, located at Rowan County Airport. It is supposedly only one of like five in the US.

It is a special type of antenna that allows for a glideslope at an airport with odd terrain (ie. the large gulley at the end of runway 20) that otherwise couldn't have one.

And here it is:

Haha, no... that would only happen if something was wrong with the localizer antenna, which is at the far end of the runway.

It operates just like a normal glide slope, it just looks funny.

I did some digging... two other airports that have one of these are Charleston Yeager on runway 23 and Los Angeles on runway 7L
