|
|
I'm a novice at best I've read the basic instullation post, but for some reason I can't get the panel to show the instruments or here sound, that's for most of the project open sky aircraft, and i just downloaded some a330s that only shows the wings. I'm running FSX, i never use to have these problems with fs 2004.
Can some please help, it's getting very frustrating, tell me what I'm doing wrong.
THANKS |

Are you running FS2004 aircraft in FSX?
If so, try FSX-specific aircraft. On first glance this may be your problem. :-s
EDIT: Also notice that the folder structure in FSX is somewhat different than you may have been used to in FS2004. |

Can be a few problems with what I am reading.
How about posting up the links to the a/c that you downloaded. It helps us to see what you got, and see if there is something that you need, that you may have missed.
As well, I will, or someone else will get what you downloaded, and test it, and see what is going on.
One other thing..... Since you have FSX, are you enabling DX10 in the settings. Or better yet, are you using Windows XP or VISTA????
As you can see, there could be multiple problems. But the more info we have, helps narrow down the problems.
Check this out...

And welcome to SurClaro :D

Are you manually installing the aircraft, via copy/paste, or do you use a third-party auto-installer? I don't have FSX, so I can't double-check the folder structure that is apparently slightly different from FS2004.
Aww crap, I'm grasping at straws here, possibly a few of our other resident gurus knows what's up with that, or can help you troubleshoot. Have some patience, and in the meantime, can you explain exactly what steps you take to install the aircraft (in detail...what and where...)
And how about a link or pointer to the exact files you grabbed so someone else can check them for a good install experience (or not)?
EDIT: RD...you beat me to it, LOL! |

Hey I'm not sure which add on are you talkin about, but i'm pretty sure that you are talkin about the same add on as mine..
Here is a snapshot of our problem:
http://i256.photobucket.com/albums/hh174/fisz_1123/Picture1-4.png
System:
Intel Pentium Dual CPU T3200 2GHz
2GB RAM
WinVista 32bit HomeBasic
DirectX10 (But disabled on my FSX)
Graphic: Mobile Intel 965 Xpress Chipset Family 358MB
FSX:
Deluxe without any SPs (So not DX10 compatible, I think)
Add on:
tom330.zip
http://www.surclaro.com/FSX-Aircraft-airliners-c40-10-dateD.html
Please, this add on is like the best free add on available, and its sad to see the fuselageless aircraft flying in the air....  |

Thanks arepeace for the pic, that helps, as well as the link.
I'll get it right now, install it, and see what happens.
Give me about 10 minutes for a reply back.

Here's the problem for arepeace....
The texture format is in .dds format, which is only applicable for VISTA 64 bit systems. Since your running Vista in 32 bit, you need to get it converted to .bmp format.
If you don't know how to do that, let me know, and I can convert it for you, and meitalnadif.
If I have to, I'll make a package for one or both of you, so you can have what your wanting.
Let me know please.
Otherwise, with Vista Ultimate 64 bit, I can see and use it.

Wow thats fast... R u a 911 operator or sumthin? Coz i didnt xpect any reply in the first 5 minutes...
Btw thx for ur post, and i dnt know how to convert dds to bmp... Does it require any software, and if it does, cn u show me where to get it? Bcoz the same author made a lot of different aircraft textures and each one of them doesnt appear in my FSX. I think it's better for me to convert them myself. :) |

LMAO....
Actually, my real job does work with 911.
To convert the textures from .dds to .bmp is available here... http://www.brothersoft.com/dxtbmp-71327.html
Read the readme, and print it out. If you have questions, let us know.
Time for me to hit the pillow........ and hard. :D

As well, if you can post up a pic of your a/c texture folder, I think I know what's wrong.
See you in 11 hours.

Thanks RD for replying, just got in from work and I see you're going to sleep. Arepeace is right it looks like ths developer for the A330 pays close attention to detail. I'm sorry i missed the dicussuion I hope HARK.. is still here.
These are some of the add ons I've tried to use in FSX that just don't work correctly. The most common problem is no sound and panel. With regards to the panel issue on the cockpit mode I can't see things like attitude, airspeed, everything to do instrument flying. In vc mode there is just no virtual cockpit.
I'm having this problem with all PROJECT OPENSKY add-ons here's one for example.
http://www.surclaro.com/download.php?op=getit&lid=17123
When I unzip it I send it to fsx/simobject/airplanes. That's usually how I did it for fs2004.
I know I must be doing something wrong or not understanding something b/c there is no way all these airplanes all the the same flaw.
Oh and where do I go to find out if I have DX10 enabled. I am operating VISTA 32 bit.
Thanks in advance for everyone who has tried to help me. [/url] |
