This system should be enough to run it high. It runs so choppy. I'm not a tech head to say the least and i tried the tweaks and not confident to edit cfg files but any help in FSX for dummies terms would be greatly appreciated. HELP !!!!!!!

My specs are:

Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 @ 2.40 Ghz
4 Gigs ddr ram
Nvidia GeForce 9800 GTX OC 1 Gig
Vista Home Premium SP 1

Not sure what your M/B (Mother Board) specs are, but that 2.4 Ghz is one thing that his holding you back from letting you run higher settings.

Otherwise, there are alot of tweaks that can be done to the FSX.CFG that will loosen it up a bit, and give you a better flight experience.

Here is something that may help you.

If your card is not listed, start with the 8800 settings and then tweak them.

Using Skipperdan's link, use the settings for the 7300 GS first, and then try the settings for the 7600 GT.

One thing I noticed, is that they have the in game AA set to on. Some say not to, and I for one have always had it turned on. Same also hold true for me with the A/F setting. Let the game control it, and it will free up the processes of the card, making the FPS 2-5 frames higher, if not more.

I displayed a link above for Nvidia settings for Microsoft Flight Simulator. These are settings which we can adjust from within the Flight Simulator software.

Does anybody know where we can find a link that shows the Nvidia Video Card settings that we can use to optimize our Flight Simulator performance?8) 8)

RD:

I am using the GForce 7800GS which is an AGP version.

Whenever I go into the Nvidia Configuration menu, it always asks me 100 questions that I don't always know the best answer. 8) 8)
