It depends if what do you think the airbrakes are, and is it IAS or TAS.
The title of this topic has nothing to do with the contents...think about that. |

In real life? It would have to depend on the plane I would imagine. Probably fighter jets and others could do it. In MS, there is no issue.
@Maxell: Spoilers could lossely translate to airbrakes. The main difference, is that spoilers work more to spoil lift which in turn can be used to slow the plane down. Net result is often the same. A speedbrake or airbrake is more used to creat drag which slows the plane down. |

| Ben, spoilers are not nececearly the same as speedbrakes. I will take the Fokker 100 for example. It has spoilers on the wings, that are used (as on many other planes) mostly to force the airplane down after mains touchdown, and therefore enable slowing down using wheel brakes. Speedbrakes on the Fokker 100 are independent from the spoilers, they are on the back of the fuselage, below the rudder. They open up to the left and the right of the rear end. And they are almost always used during the decend in the Fokker 100. That is why I asked. |

| Thats pretty much what I said. I did say "LOSELY". I also went on to say which did what. I was pointing out to you that you were being to technical. The title was close enough to be good for most of us. Apparenlty you didn't think so. |

First I would have to tell you I nave no idea what "losely" means :D
Second, I said rename it becasue I assumed he just posted twice by accisent, later I realized those are diffrent posts, and suggested a rename. See, I simply swooped over the second one, and didn't pay attention to it. Also I like this lounge very much, and I would do anything to make it better. I have noticed thet it is more and more becoming like the rest of the forum, evertone posts what ever and how ever he wants, even though it hasn't got anything to do with REAL aviation. That is why I asked him if he is a real pilot! If he is asking for simulation purposes he should have asked in FS2004 or FS2002 section. He would get more feedback on the spoiler effect in FS there.
Well that all for tonight
