Trim it using NUM7 and NUM1 but with num lock OFF. So they are actually Home and End buttons.

Be well,

The answer that you are probably looking for is "Trial and Error". If you are trimming too much each time then you may wish to go into the ASSIGNMENTS area and move the slider to the left so that each time that you trim up or down, your aircraft will move only a smaller amount each time. 8) 8)

That is of course when you're using a joystick. You will find a third column in the assignments, and a slider behind comands in this third column, which are asigned to your joystick. They rule the "sensitivity" of the buttons.

If you prefer the keyboard for this, there's also a way to do it:

In your Windows System settings, you will find an icon refering to keyboard settings.
Having started this, you will be able to determin how often a character will be repeated in a given time when you press a key, and the delay between the time when you start holding the key down and the screen starts repeating the character. It has a test bar were you can test the result of your changes.

Fiddeling a bit with this will also help.
But:

Some planes have a sensitive trim, either because of mismodelling or because the real thing was quoted by this detail. Per fist you can say, the faster the plane, the more likely you(r autopilot) might run intro problems.
Some earlier supersonic military aircraft models suffer from this. In most cases the problem can be solved by editing the trim and/or elevator effectiveness in the aircraft.cfg file.

Others, surprise, surprise, take forever to get the trim wheel even moved at all.
Anybofy correct me if I tell crap, but I think the default Cessnas are a good reference point.

I don't know the way you fly. I trim to a speed and ajust the sinkrate using the throttle, that is I don't compensate using the trim. I got my trim buttons in my MS Sidewinder Precision Pro 2 Joystick, very handy to be used with the thumb, even with the wrist in a cast ,and a single click gives a tiny adjustment while holding the button will make bigger ones.

No, I meant the faster you go, the nore efficiency the elevator tabs have, so you have to trim a little downwards. Also if you increase throttle in a single prop, the VS also increases, so you have to lower the nose a little to maintain VS. But I do use the throttle for speed maintaining

SO you increase speed from 100 KIAS to 180 and so the nose wants to go up, co you trim it down, to keep it at a stop. Basic aerodynamics, you don't even have to be a pilot to know that. You are a glider pilot, right?
