Ok...I used to be able to get 20-30 fps in FS9 with all the eye candy turned up to about 75%. That was with a GeForce FX 5200 256Mb AGP4X card, 1 Gig of PC 2700 Ram, and a older MB, with my AMD XP2200 1.8Ghz Processor. I have upgraded to this....
AMD XP2200 1.8GHz (Same Processor)
ASUS ATV8X-X MB (AGP8X, 400FSB)
1 Gig of PC3200 DDR Ram
ATI Radeon X800 Pro 256Mb AGP8X Video Card (Slightly Overclocked)
Omega Drivers for the Card.
Now i cannot seem to get over 10 - 15 FPS on the ground with the same settings as before, and sometimes it bottoms out to as low as 3 - 5 FPS.
What gives ? I know i am somewhat limeted with my processor. (Thats the next thing to upgrade) But with the upgrades i have made i should be seeing an improvment, not a decline in FPS. Can someone either give me some things to try here, or point to a site that can help me ? |

i'd be pointing fingers at that processor. Bus compatible with that mobo? You may have the 333 mhz chip...that makes a huge difference. If I remember correctly, there are 2 versions of that chip; a 400 and 333. That can slow your cpu clock.
Have you done benchmarks to see what's holding you up? |

That card requires more juice and your CPU/Mobo isn't capable of it. Time to look at another cpu/mobo. Also, try different drivers...they make all the difference.
