Hey Gang,

One for all you BA buffs. I'm doing a repaint of the old BA Landor from the 80's. Now, I've camped out over at Scareliners.net and Jetphots and got some pretty decent reference shots. But I can't get a clear one of the tail crest. I think its a design from the old BOAC days.

It was a royal crest inscribed with "To Fly to Serve" in it. Anyone know more about this and where I can get a better pic? Googed it but man, lots of text but no pics.

Cheers,

Exx

Have you tried contacting BA about possible archival photos?

GS, I went to every site that has the words 'BA' in it. You'd think it would be there? NOT. Thanks for the suggestion though my friend.

Got a couple of people hunting for it so hopefully it'll happen. I don't want to do the bird if there's no crest on the tail ya know? May as well just pluck it and fry it up...mmmm chicken.

what I meant by contact BA is to (check at the museums) get a piece of paper, a pencil, an envelope and a stamp. Then look up the public relations office for BA and actually contact them. I know it sounds quaint and you may have to find somebody older to help you with identifying the materials necessary to write a letter, but it's the only way I can think of finding airline historical photos as many of them simply are never loaded up to the web but are sitting in archives all over the world. If it's a no go, let me know and I'll see what I can do on my end.

Paper? Stamp? Pencil...aaaahhhh, I know what that is, my girlfriend uses that for augmenting her eyebrows. What? Mail?

*shudders*

I'll keep my people on it for a while here GS and if no go, I'm gonna take you up on your most kind and generous offer.
You have a very good point there about stuff sitting in archives and not uploaded.

Might as well book a flight to the UK, and snap a shot maself you know? Go see relatives...flends....hmmmm. We'll see.

Cheers Mate!
