This holds true for most of my flights on fs9.
I cant seem to get very close to the est. flight time OR fuel burn listed in navlog. I fly smaller single and twin props only right now and fly ewith little to no wind.
When i reach cruise alt, I power down a bit to keep all needles in green, adjust prop pitch/sync props, and lean fuel of course. But when I do all this my speed drops well below the plane's listed cruise speed. (i use altitude listed in navlog also)
I noticed the fuel thing when I loaded 2x fuel that navlog est. for a short trip and STILL ran out!
Anyone else have similar problems? What am i missing?
Im curious now, cause the two major items that are on the va pirep are flight time and fuel burn!
thanks |

| I assime that the time to get to the destination isn't the same as the nav log either...that is because FS has a bad calculation for time and fuel. To get the same numbers as the nav log you would have to instantly climb to cruise altitude and instantly accelerate to sruising speed. FS doesn't include taxt, and the fact that the airplane needs much more fiel and thrust to climb then to cruise...as well as much more time to go over 1 mile trip as the alt is lower, and the gspeed is lower because of that. |

Youre not alone. My Navlog constantly gives me terrible numbers. Its become standard for me to have 2x the fuel listed in the Navlog. Sometimes double, plus a quarter or 15%. Not so much of a problem for me since I only fly the larger planes and I can *beep* some passengers out of their seats to suit my needs...(just like a real airline) hehehe.
The speeds are way off too. The ground speed listed on the Navlog is way off whats shown on the GPS... usually lower. I took the ground speed listed in the Navlog, and matched it to the ground speed on the GPS and found that when I had them matched there was atleast a 100 knot difference when the waypoint info filled in.
Its weird I tells ya |
