If your speaking of transitioning as it relates to airspace...
You're in an uncontrolled airspace (or any other airspace other than the one you want to enter) and want to transition through a controlled airspace, say around a major airport, you need to request clearance to "transition (transit, cross, fly through) the Bravo (or whatever) airspace.

| ok, but what's the difference between the bravo or delta or whatever airspaces. is there anything at all? |
