Anyone using MegaScenery add ons? If so, comments would be appreciated. Does it look as good as in their promo shots? How is it on frame rates?
Thanks |

| I have New York & Northern California Megascenery and also MegaCity San Francisco along with USA Roads, flying into KSFO looks awesome, and very framerate friendly. On approach I average 28-30 FPS and touchdown to the gates around 24. That is much better than what I was getting out of the default scenery, and looks 10X better |

| The problem is, it's too expensive. It's also power hungry and disk space is of essence! |

| How detailed is USA Roads for fs2004? Would you have little dirt roads and stuff on there? I am considering getting it, and if any of you have it, would you be willing to show me a screenshot of my town? Wytheville Virginia (mountain empire, KMKJ), start out on runway 8 and just fly straight east untill you come to a town. Should be two major intersates intersecting through there. The major highways make for 2 or 3 large truck stop complexes and also makes wythe county a haven for meth labs, at least three busts a week  Its all you hear about in the news. |

How does this look to you.
Please note my Reality XP Garmin GPS in the lower left corner. I usually have this "fantastic" GPS software displayed on my second 15 inch monitor. 8) 8) |

I could not find your town on my GPS map so I just followed your note to look for where two main roads joined.
How close did I get to your house? 8) 8) |

| See highway 21 on the map? Its on highway 21 about 8 miles south of the town. According to FS2004, there is no civilization located there. Which there isnt really anyways  If you have an atlas lying around, look for Crockett. I can not BELIEVE that it is on any map. It is extremely small. Now there is another town FS2004 did not put on the game, it is between Wytheville and KMKJ, its called Rural Retreat (where I attend high school), known for being the home of the guy who invented "Dr. Pepper", actually named after a local doctor that owned a drug store on main street. The old store has burned down now though, a few years before i moved to this little hole-in-the-ground  |

I don't think I know what you are talking about... in any way, do you know anyone in those lab that can get a good deal :)
here are two shots on the same place as skipperdan: but this is using freeware Usa Roads (not sure what the exact title is) by reymond (available in flightsim/avsim) |

| Looks good, how detailed is the freeware version compared to the payware version? And it looks like you have some kind of good terrain addon there. What is it? |

Hi Lambo,
as far as I know, both the Freeware and payware road uses the same data. Incidentally there is another product available (American data - road and railways) which uses tiger data, which is lower defination than usa roads.
I believe the freeware usa roads is to entice you to buy thier payware usa waters, which is supposed to mesh with each other. the only problem with the freeware version is, you need to rename some existing FS files to remove duplicates.. I don't think payware USA roads has that problem.
Mesh: thats a good question.. I have mostly Justins mesh (FSGenesis), Holgers mesh... and finally some meshes I had been playing with couple of months ago. I am not sure, but I think the meshes in question are of Justins. |

| Can you get me a top-down view of the whole town? I would like to see if I can pick out any of the individual roads, other than the major highways, which are kinda obvious |

Hi Lambo,
do you want to give me a specific co-ord; here is a snapshot from the same location; but after zooming out, small road details are hard to see. |
