motherboard Gigabyte GA-7VAX, Athlon 1700XP 512 DDR, Radeon 9000 64 DDR, 128 bit
When I have full details and traffic 100% on, gamespeed rapidly decreases. Do you think that it would help, if I changed processor to Sempron 2800? |

Rather than the sempron...if you can fork over the $$ go with a thoroughbred core. Its not that much more but the performance is much better. If your board can handle it that is. Its a huge leap from the 1700 to a 2800 and you will see FS increase in speed.
If not, look at scrapping your mobo/cpu and getting a newer version. Also, your gfx card is on the low end for FS requirements...

my advice would be not to play something with full detail and then complain how badly your computer stinks. If we all did that then well nvidia's and ati's net worths's would leap sky-high...not that they already aren't there.
Chill out man. You can take lower graphics 8) |

I agree with Exxman... if you can afford to upgrade to a better Motherboard and CPU. I just did and it is beyond great! I purchased an ASUS A8V Deluxe Motherboard with an AMD 3000+ ( 64 Processor ) and it screams.
The cost of a Sempron 2800 ( Chip alone ) is about $109.00 Where as if you upgrade your Motherboard and CPU to an AMD 3000+ 64 Processor you will pay about $350.00 ( $175.00 for a AMD 3000+ 64 Processor 939 pin ) do not get a 734 pin... the 939 is the way to go!!! ) An Asus A8V Deluxe Mother board goes for about $160.00. Let me put it this way to you... you are not going to see a huge difference in upgrading from a AMD 1700 to a AMD 2800. Truth be told. It will be faster but not what people think it would be.
Flight Simulator is VERY CPU DEPENDANT!!! That is the basic bottom line. I would personally save your pennies ( I know I was glad I did... ) and move up to a 64 Processor. Check your local computer store and your memory might be able to go into a new board with one UNTIL you can afford to purchase new memory. I would seriously think about DOUBLING the MEMORY as well... plus upgrading the video card too.
Agreeing with Exxman again... it sounds like a complete overhaul is the way to go. I know it can be spendy... and we all are on fixed incomes ( or most of us are ) but saving your pennies to get a great system will be well worth it. Hope this helps.
