How do I "re-set" my aircraft headings? When I'm on the ground, sitting on the runway, prior to taking off, and the runway heading is North, I'm showing a heading of East. No matter which aircraft I'm in. No matter what city or airport I'm departing from. This heading discrepancy persists during the flights too. How this mistake began, I don't know, but for the last few days, I've been noticing it. What can I do to restore accuracy, ( as a default ), to all my aircraft headings? I'm using FS2002Pro. THANK YOU......

Press V...that is for reseting you HSI (Heading Situation Indicator) to the normal value...or use the trimming know ob the side and do it manually...it's done in real aviation.

Do you have any idea how this might have happened in the first place? What I may have done to cause this problem, without realizing I'd done it? Let me know what you think. Thanks.........and, since all my aircraft exhibit this problem, I'll have to re-set the heading indicators in each one of them, individually. That's what I'm trying to avoid. Is there a way to solve the problem all at once? Apparently, I caused it all at once.

Even when I re-set the heading indicator, ( using your suggestion ), my magnetic compass, ( the "wet" compass ), remains 90 degrees off course. There's no knob available for resetting the magnetic compass. There's a central problem that I must have caused. Whatever it is, ( whatever I've done ), has effected the headings of all the aircraft. That's the problem I need to solve. Can you help me? Can anyone out there PLEASE help me? Maybe I inadvertantly re-aligned my flight sim's world by engaging the slew selector, and then turning it off again, but with my flight sim's world out of alignment. Is that a possibility? I don't know how to properly use the slewing, and I'm not knowledgeable of all the potential of slewing. So, I don't know. Has anyone out there got any ideas?

Are you using the default flight to start up with, or have you saved a new default flight? Also, check your key assignments to see which one is used to correct the magnetic variation, in 2k4 it's the "D" key, I dont remember which one in 2k2 as it's been awhile. As to the default flight issue, if you saved a new default flight with the error in place, that would explain it. Another option is to delete the Fs2002.cfg file and then restart FS to generate a new default configuration file and see if the problem went away. Usually, I just rename the .cfg file to .cfg.old so I still have it in case that wasnt the answer and I want to return to my tweaked .cfg setup.

Hi RLB

My system: FS2002 pro
I feel for you, as I have the same problem but in my case it is 180 degrees. I re-installed (pain) but that fixed the problem temporarily and I will live with it untill I get it fixed.(90 degrees would drive me batty though)
I also installed 3D glasses recently and played around with the slew gismo so I may have to look in that direction. If I come up with something I'll contact the forum. Rest assured you are not on your own cheers, peebee
