absolutely beautiful :D I'll try it out for sure, but for some reason, that IFDG model is tough on my framerates...... I have no idea what's so different about that model :? She's a beautiful bird though, that MD-11 :)

i will include the model and panel. But be prepared...may be a pretty big file 15MB +??
Its not an IFDG Bman...Simmer's Sky MD11. Had to make the textures from scratch as they don't have a paintkit...not as far as I know.
Thanks gang...look for it soon.
@Ping - uhhhh...you were painting one? With Virgin...hmmmm....how did that come about? ;)

Yes, I seen that after looking closer at the shots, which is better for me, as that model seems to be more framerate friendly :D Exxcellent work man :D

When you get into the ultra high detail aircraft, they more often than not have a huge polygon count. The polygons are basically a collection of triangles that make up the overall shape. In order to produce a nicely rounded shape, it takes a serious amount. You will often see the phrase "32 sides fuselage", which means that 32 flat strips were joined to produce the round shape. If you will zoom in to the front of the aircraft or engine nacelle in spot view you will see the effect. Some aircraft use even more than that to get the amazingly real look. So, when a model has an astronomical polygon count, it takes the sim a while to "draw" it, and it has to draw it quite often when in motion and your view angle and distance is changing. This means pure raw processor power is needed to keep up with video demands. Hope this helps to explain just a bit why some models eat the frames while others dont. Also, complex textures and color schemes add a burden to the video engine. Now, just because a model is highly detailed does automatically make it a frame eater. Some authors have the skill and knowledge to trick the machine and the eyes and keep the polygon count down to improve frame rates. You will also find some not so nice models that were done by people not yet familiar with all the tricks and thereby ended up with a high polygon count unnecessarily. Now that your worried about something else while downloading planes I'm going to leave so you can think of more questions :D

EXXMAN, my plane looks totally awesome. I knew I had the best man for the job. NO detail was missed. WAAYYYY above my expectations, just beautiful. I can't wait for the maiden flight on this. You've outdone yourself again. This should be payware as well as the Cathay and Pan Am.
Thank You so very much on another great job, just speechless!!! :-)
Thank You

Thanks groundsquirrel, you explained that very well :) I knew that the Posky models were also very detailed, and some of them, depending on the paint, is no less of a framerate eater than an AI model. But the IFDG models, both the MD-11 and the A340-300 are really tough on my piece of sh** computer I have here......

All of Exxmans work could be payware. Not that he should charge for it though  |
