Hi All

I been reading the forums here alot and was hoping someone can help with my problem.

When I run FS2004 I'm getting real slow frame rates, but FS2002 runs like a dream.

My system spec is: AMD Duron 1300 mhz, 640 Megs Ram, NIVIDA GeForce2 MX 100/200 64 Meg Video Card, 80 Gigs of hard drive,

I am running Windows XP Pro SP1, I have all latest drivers installed as well as DirectX 9.0C.

I built this machine about 3 ish years ago, to be fair it was state of the art stuff back then, but as all ways things soon become out dated and software moves on, I am a bit reluctant to do a new build just yet because the machine copes with everything I throw at it, Video editing, graphics, dvd burning, TV etc. Except FS2004, I know that evenutally I will have to bite the bullet and do a new build, but if you guys have some advise to prolong this I would be extremly grateful.

Kind Regards and thanks in advance for any advise offered

Karl

Your cpu and graphics card could be looked into as getting an update. Your ram shud be fine. I have 512 and I get continually 20/25 fps, even in detailed airports such as SEA, or LAX. But my cpu is 3 times faster than your so it could be the problem as well.

I only have fs2002 but by reading these forums you automatically get info of 2004, too of course. I can tell you this: the fs2004 engine is aligned towards the faster computers and though it RUNS on the slower ones, FPS is killed.

I strongly advise you not to UPGRADE but to wait (or not, depends on what kind of moneyburner you are) and then build a new one. All of your specs are a little better than mine, but as said i still use mine.

Regards.

try to get all the fps reducing addons Nex. Scenery, clouds, software. Search here or Avsim for those. Some are FS2004 clouds, Gerrish's scnenery, FSTerrain (payware sorry), FSAutostart. That should help out a little bit. There is a lot out there so take your time in searching for and finding it.

Good luck,

FYI: (one of those little known FS9.cfg tweaks)

Add this line in your FS9.cfg file under [MAIN] to see the FPS values that are averaged to give the actual FPS.

[MAIN]
Ave_Frame_Rate_Display=1

The average FPS values will appear in the data displayed when you use "SHIFT+Z+Z"

Hello Guys,

my Name is Klaus (klaro), and I am from Frankfurt/Main (EDDF), Germany.

This is my first Post here. Please excuse my English, but I want to help You a little bit.

There is a wonderful Tool called FlusiFix. At a long Time it's only available in German Language.

But now, after a long and hard Time of working, my Friend Wolfgang Picheta (Wolli) is proud to present this Tool also in English Language.

It's very helpful and includes a lot of Tipps and Tricks (most Automatically)to make FS2004 more realistic and (maybe) faster.

FlusiFix is total for free.

Here is the Link to Wolli's HP:

I hope, I can help You a little bit.

Friendly Regards,

Klaus
