| Indeed the 9800 will improve your overall experience, but pay attention to the tuning of your FS and be sure to keep your tower cool as power demand will be up and frame rates will still be somewhat limited by the processor. |

I had almost the same setup in my old gamer...great card, but that processor might be your bottleneck...probably wanna bump that ram up to a gig while you're at it...FS9 is a memory hog.

FS9 is a memory hog? Don't think so. Boot it up and see how much mem it uses...if it goes above 256 then you need to fix up your system...

If you want to save some money, see if you can find a ATI 9500 Pro. I bought this video card about two years ago and I am very pleased with it. The 9500 Pro is a lot cheaper than the 9800 Pro and it is rated at about 85% of the 9800 Pro (I guess). Please do some research on your own to check the most recent comparisons.
ATI Radion stopped selling this model because it competed with the 9700 and 9800. It uses the same circuit board as the 9700 and 9800 with something to restrict it's performance. 8) 8) |
