Hello, here is my problem
I want to follow a radial route (not an heading) to or from a VOR.
I connect the autopilot with the good vor freq, the obs route to follow and place the aircraft with an angle of 30° from the radial route with a good distance from the VOR (from 10 NM to 100 NM) BUT
the plane does not follow the radial correctly.
The plane goes to the radial route, overshoot it, go to the left of the radial, overshoot it one more time, to the left again, and so on.
Why my plane doesn't follow the radial in a straight line ?
Thanks for your answer ? |

I don't have a clue about what you are talking about...don't know that much about flying properly. But there are other pros here and you'll hear from them.

The fact that your AP is attempting to align with your heading indicates that it is indeed working and the problem is elsewhere.
Without more details, my guess is that, the problem is probably related your speed as you approach the radial. The AP is not capable of snap turning you onto the correct heading. You must plan ahead by reducing the AC speed closer to that specified for maneuvering.
Even at that, you can expect a small amount of variance until settled on the correct heading.
Edited for clarity and spelling. |

same thing if speed 140 kts or speed 250 kts of 310 kts !!!
furthermore, in FS98, there was an autoland capability with GPWS but in FS2002, there is no longer this possibility.
What a shame !! |

seanrulz...there are recent topics on the questions you posed in the FS2004 forum regarding ILS. The Learning Center in FS9 is a good place to start too and will answer most of your questions. Also, please try to just post one question at a time per post in the relevant forums. Multiple questions get ignored because they are difficult to answer and follow...
