Does it have most good sized towns(Champaign, IL in particular? Interstates?

I know FS2004 has lots of airports, but does it have the towns they lay in too?

It has the majority of the major cities in the world yes. But they dont go into such detail as street signs and school yards, etc...

I hope you don't expect to see the buildings and such in exactly the same places as they are in the real world, and so on. It's a far cry from realistic for the most part. There are some decent aspects of the major cities and airports I think you'll like, but for the most part, default scenery is a bunch of autogen/dynamic scenery that is clumped together (depending on your settings) to give an impression of the "real" world it's supposed to represent.

Is the FS9 world a 1:1 scale with the true world?

Edit: Also, if I fly long enough, will the sun rise or set?

The sun will set and rise. You would have to wait 12 hrs, but it will.

you could also fly 4 hours and go from sunrise to sunset. Just need to pick the right airport, time, season. You could also fly 20 hours in daylight or darkness, settings set as before.

The world in fs is not 1:1 scale for base scenery as far as I know. But very close. If you want the most detailed cities to fly in you are going to have to pay for them. There are some very decent freeware ones out there. But they cover a small area and not as well detailed as the payware.

Hope this helps

It helped a lot. That's cool that even though my small town won't show any buildings in FS9, it will have the land it takes up. Very cool.
