Depends on what the readme for the addon you have says. Most times it goes in the FS9/Addon Scenery folder.
Read the readme or install text and it should tell you where it goes.

| After you put the scenery in the addon scenery folder, launch FS and go to the Scenery Library section and add your new scenery folder. In order to see the new scenery, you will have to restart FS. |

Since you are probably just starting to download Scenery, it is smart to get off on the right foot. 8) 8)
Rather than just storing the files in the generic Addon Scenery folder, you may wish to do what I do. I created several folders within the Flight Simulator ADDON SCENERY folder such as:
ADDON SCENERY
DANS ADDONS
Within this folder, I created several sub-folders
North America
Europe
etc.
Whenever I add scenery to the North America folder, I always change the name of the scenery to adhere to the following rule. Many times, the creator of the scenery will use a non-definitive name for the scenery (which you will forget two days after you download it).
STATE, CITY AND DESCRIPTION
Example: Florida_St Petersburg_Downtown |
