|
|
I can't think of what else to call this, and after much searching, can't seem to find the answer... Default airports have a green area (ok..in green places it's green) around the airport and runways. just like Astro-turf.
I am redesigning several airports and need to add this to a few places as well as get rid of it in some where the airport is NOT in the right location. How do I do this?
1) How do I remove it where it shouldn't be and replace with correct landclass (adding landclass is not a problem for me)
2) How do I ADD this astro-turf looking green under the newly created/moved airport and runways.
Thanks for any/all help on this one.... |

As a bonus question:
How do you make the ground level under the airport? I know that default airports are all 'level'. Where I moved my airport to, the ground is uneven. How do I fix this. Is there a trigger in fs9 that says 'this area is an airport, level the mesh here'??
Thanks again for any help....
note: it's a real pain when you are taxing down the runway, and decide to cut across 50 feet of grass to the taxiway only to fall 10 feet down and blow up. LOL |

| Is there an official name for the area surrouning the airports? I would like to know how to make them. If you look, the grass areas are also what flatten the airport. |

Dont forget to remember how FS-world is made. First the mesh, that is the contour, then the scenery landclass (ground textures) and scenery objects. Finally the goodies go on, including afcads, autogen objects and traffic.
I am quite certain I have oversimplified it, but you get the idea. I am quite new at this myself, but I am tackling it from the standpoint of study and research (as in, looks damned complicated and I'm busy, so it's legal for me to put it off till later). |
