|

Hi All:
We're making scenery with GMAX, and everything is fine except that we can't get it to show up in FS. Anyone have an idea what we're doing wrong, or maybe what we're missing?
Thanks in advance for any help...we're really stuck on this one.

Hey Dude, im finding Gmax the hardest Program to learn but i was reading the FS2004 site last night and Found the SDK kits! and there was a program in there that changes Gmax creations into FS2004 Creations that make it work!!!! http://www.microsoft.com/games/flightsimulator/fs2004_downloads_sdk.asp
or just use this quote that i copied of Microsoft for you! see if that helps nd then download it of the top link!
Make Model SDK
MakeMDL (MakeMDL.exe) is a program that converts 3-D models you create with modeling tools, such as gmax (a 3-D modeling tool from discreet included with Flight Simulator 2004), into scenery or aircraft objects that work with Microsoft® Flight Simulator 2004. This SDK explains how to use MakeMDL and provides several tables that list the part names you can use to make 3-D models compatible with Flight Simulator 2004.
Filelist:
eula.rtf
GMax Materials.doc
makemdl.cfg
MakeMDL.doc
makemdl.exe
MakeMDL.parts.xml

Hey Stewpot...
Thanks for your input on this issue, but the problem isn't in making the .bgl file for the scenery, the problem is displaying it in FS. There are no errors displayed by any of the compilers, the coordinates, altitude, heading and stuff are all put where they should be. Flight Sim "loads" the scenery on startup, but just doesn't display it where it should be, by the apron.
Again, thanks for trying to help with this.

| gmax is a 3D modeling program used to create A/C and scenery objects, it's the best one available, it's free, it can be found in the "EXTRAS" on one of the FS2004 disks. |
