Okay, I'll take a stab at it. The alpha channel is already there if it was modeled into the aircraft texture maps. You should be using DXTbmp to open the .bmp texture files for the aircraft. At the top of the main DXT window, you will see a drop down menu for Alpha. Also, in the top right hand window of DXT you will see a small window that shows the current alpha for the image you have opened. From the Alpha drop down menu, you select to send your alpha image to your image editor. Do your edit, save, then without closing your editor, go over to DXT and from the drop down menu for Alpha, select to refresh alpha and you should see your changes appear in the small alpha channel window in DXT. Then you select save from the file drop down menu in DXT and answer the query's correctly, double checking that it is saving it in the right place. If you did, you would be prompted to overwrite the present file. Then, open FS and go look at it.
That's the basics, beyond that it's trial and error and research. There are many threads here at Surclaro that have most of the questions and answers you need. Failing that, just drop us a post and we'll help as we can. |
