OK, loved the first upgrade so was real happy to see the second with ILS for runway 9 - but - am not experienced enough to load the upgrade as per the readme file so i tried to do it with fsm - not a good move.
now every time i start fs9 i get two messages:
SCENERY.CFG file error. local scenery directory (ADDON SCENERY\juliana/Juliana\AFCAD2\SCENERY) in scenery Area. 44 (and 45) not found. click OK to continue.
Bugger !!!!! (that's my response, it's not in the message).
methinks there should be a 747 and a chopper in there, there isn't, mebbe that's what Areas 44 and 45 are?
would really love to get those messages to go and get juliana working spot on, any ideas youse guys? ima all ears.
cheers,
boleropilot
ps don't forget ima real newbie here so any advice has to be real simple - a bit like me, really........... |

boleropilot,
Post a link to where you found the file and I'll take a look at it. By the looks of the error message you posted, it may be a simple problem with the syntax of the file name. |

boleropilot...
All you need to do is take the contents of the JULIANA/AFCAD2 folder and the contents of the JULIANA/SCENERY folder and put them in the FS9/ADDON SCENERY/SCENERY folder. Place the contents of the JULIANA/TEXTURE folder in the FS9/ADDON SCENERY/TEXTURE folder.
Give that a try, start-up FS and see what you get. |

g'day ricktobin again, tried the above and obviously didn't do it right because i lost another two files
now when i boot up fs9 i have 4 messages as per my first post above
is there any way you can give me a full list of exactly what files i should have and where? at least that's a chance for me to get back to flying into one of my favourite places
thanks,

Hello boleropilot :D
G'day to you, too
When you first downladed the file, you should have the folder inside the zip which contains the "Scenery" and "Texture" files. Move that folder to your Addon Scenery folder located in the FS9 main folder. (hope that's clear) Then start FS9, go to "Settings"->"Scenery Library" then click "Add Area". After you click Add Area, it should display a window with your FS9 folders. If not, then to the left of that window click "My Computer" then "Local Disk (C)" then "Program Files" then "Microsoft Games" then "Flight Simulator 9". The Addon Scenery folder should be accessible now. Double click the Addon Scenery folder, and then right click
the name of the folder which contains the scenery you're trying to activate. In this case, Juliana airport. Then click "OK". You will have to restart FS9 as it will tell you. The scenery should be activated now. This is the routine for most scenery addons, and if the file is meant to be handled differently, it will be explained in the READ ME file(s) of the download. Some scenery files come with an AFCAD file, and that will USUALLY go into the "Addon Scenery/Scenery" folder. Keep in mind that some scenery add ons do come with a bug every now and then, but I have this scenery, and it works fine. Very nice too! Even the scenery files that have a bug will usually have a "fix" file posted soon after the problem is recognized and the designer notified. In any case, the READ ME files are very important because not every scenery file is handled the same. Read those carefully. Hope this helps. :D You'll get the hang of it, no worries. :)
*Regarding the misplaced scenery files you have now, I would first delete the areas in FS9 so it doesn't search for them to find nothing. Then you can search for the files and delete them. It's better to start with a new file in this case I think. |
