probably not since it is a brand new and expensive card.
you can google it and see if it is better than others or not. There's a site (don't remember) that shows reviews in color bar type tests that are reviews and performance tests against other cards.
Sorry, this probably doesn't help much.

HERE HE IS TO SAVE THE DAY,,,,,,,,AGAIN
Thanks Exx, that's the site.
121, you better have a very good and fast system to run that card. Otherwise, you might as well have gotten a 5700.
Dam, have to go, will expain later, SORRY.

Sorry about that, I'm on call.
I don't know who you ordered the 6800 from, but it should never take more than 5 days to get to you. Jumping up to a 7800 is a GAINT leap for g-cards. I would like to see the link that you are getting it from if possible.
Tech wise, you need a really fast (3.5+) o/s. A really good monitor, at least 19". 160 gb HD, and probably 1024 mb RAM to get the full benefits of this card. Might need even more than what I described as a basis, to reap the heck out of this thing. Other wise, you could have gotten a 5700 and have better graphics. Totally depends on what you have for a system.

I second that Ardie...
No matter what video card you get... if you have a slower system... you will not see the benefits of owning it. I posted a very nice article on how to build your own system in Optimal Configurations. Give it a look over and if you have any questions... give us a holler!!!

That is great! You have a very nice computer and a 7800 should be very nice in that. I take it that your mother board is a PCI-Express? Hope it works well for ya.
Also... only 5 case fans? I have 11 fans total!!! 8)
6 - 80mm case fans
1 - 80mm PCI slot fan
1 - 92mm side case fan
1 - 1 inch on the hard drive swap out bay
1 - 2 inch on the video card
1 - 2 inch on the CPU
That my friend is very cool... if you put your hand in my case you get a small case of frostbite!!!  |
