Hello,
Here's the scenerio, I'm flyin from LAX to Heathrow airport. My waypoint is Philadelphia International. What I wanted to do was leave LAX and land at Philly to gas up and then take off for Heathrow, but when I get about maybe 70 miles from the airport, ATC tells me to contact Philadelphia and request flight following. After doing all that, it doesn't give me an option to select a runway to land. What do I do? In the flight planner, I chose VFR instead of IFR. Later on I did the samething only this time I chose to run an IFR plan. ATC tells me to contact Philly to do the flight following thingie and I still don't have the option of landing at a waypoint which is Philadelphia International. As I type all of this stuff in, I'm thinking that maybe I fly from LAX to Philadelphia, land there and then go into the flight planner and set it up so that my new departure location would be Philly and the destination, Heathrow. Am I right? |

No worries...thinking about your post....seem to remember some utility that allowed the planning of flights along what you suggested but I am not sure. Maybe one of our members can fill you in more than I can...

| Hey that would be great if there is a utility for that. Actually I read a little bit on how to use the GPS. I'm leaving KLAX for KPHL. I've entered the Airport ID in the GPS and it has given me a flight path to follow. I didn't use the flight planner menu so essentially, I'm doing VFR. Once I get to my destination, land and refuel, all I gotta do is input my next destination into the GPS wait for ATC to give me the go ahead to take off and i'm on my merry way :D This is so AWESOME!!! |

With the last MSFS, I added FSNavigator to button F9. That program would
let you fly up a mountain pass and down the other side at 100 AGL. AND
you could have refueling stops simply by added the A/P twice as a waypoint. Once to land, another to take-off. In fact, it would fly the pattern
and land the plane. You became 2nd seat and just ran the radios and taxied. I havn't used it in a couple of years but now you have me interested again.;) |

| I'll have to try that program out. I've heard of it but never really looked into it. Thank you all for your generous help :D |
