I have had the limited edition of concorde for FS2004 (The on one by Altitude that came with a DVD)

I cant seem to make sense of the preflight checks as i cant find some of the instuments illlustrated in the manual.

I just cannot seem toget the engines to start despite pressing Ctrl-E as prompted.

I have had great fun though making the nose go up and down...lol

help !!!

I have that particular Concorde. It's a great addon, and I've flown it a few times over to JFK and back to London. Yes, there are some minor things that are listed in the manual that are not on the addon itself. Things like that can just be skipped as they make no affect on the aircraft performance. About the engines starting, first of all, with the complexity of the addon such as the Altitude Concorde, pressing CTRL+E to start the engines is a little silly. Especially if you're following the checklist for the erst of the rpocedures. The reason that you cant start the engines is because the HP (High Pressure) valves are closed by default, they are located on the Lower Flight Engineer panel (I think) and it's opened by SHIFT+8 or SHIFT+9, again not completely sure.

Everything you need is there, you first install the base model, then the textures of your preferred airlines. You can also download the panel and sounds, but you have to do them all seperately.

Also, you might want to check out this thread: http://forums.surclaro.com/viewtopic.php?t=1089 :D

yes that patch is ok but if you either activate afterburners or select a cockpit panel it says "sound file unguelig" or somthing like that. Is it possible to get rid of that?

Check out that above topic. Its all there.

Yes the problem exists. For the time being just press "enter" or click on accept whenever the message appears. The a/c will fly ok.

To all of you who have this add-on, could any of you tell me what i must be doing wrong, because after take-off I cannot shift the fuel back to the aft of the aircraft, I constantly get warnings about it and its getting annoying. Ive had the add-on for over 18months and ive never managed to get past the coast of the UK before.

Thanks for any help

The Concorde has 13 separate fuel tanks in total, and they are categorised into 3 main groups.

1. Engine Feed Tanks: they are the last ones the fuel goes into before entering the engine, and they are directly connected to engines. There are 4 of them, tanks 1 thru 4 and they are feeding the respective engines.

2. Main Transfer system: Is consisted of tanks 5, 6, 7, 8 but also 5A and 7A acting up as Auxillary tanks, they are drained into tanks 5 and 7 when there's room in those.

3. Trim Transfer system: Tanks 9, 10 and 11. They are high capacity fuel tanks located in the forward and the most rearward parts of the aircraft, and they are used to move the center of gravity around.

Procedures:

Engine Feed tanks should be topped off at all times, regardless of operation, so main trim tanks are drained and fuel is distributed into tanks 1-4 for engine feed. There are 2 fuel pumps for each of the main transfer tanks, so normally, tanks 6 and 7 are filling the feed tanks, while fuel from 5 and 8 is moved to 6 and 7 as they start having room for more fuel. Tanks 5A and 7A should be drained as soon as there's room in respective main fuel transfer tanks. This procedure above is only the main transfer, and it's only to assure continous engine feed during flight.

Trim Transfer is a bit more simple: Almost all fuel tanks have two intake valves (the purpose of which is explained by the name, they let the fuel into the tank) and two extract pumps (which extract fuel from the tank). There is a main pipe, connected to all fuel tanks to their extract pumps and their intake valves, and depending on which valve you open, and which pump you turn on, you will be able to move the fuel from virtually and fuel tank to any other. The trim is consisted of moving the fuel from tank 9 to tank 11 for starter, that will push the center of gravity further back. If there's no fuel in tank 9, start using tank 10 and filling tank 11 again.

For that procedure, you need to open up the intake valves for tank 11 and extract pumps for tank 9 (and later on, tank 10). You also need to make sure you keep all other inlet valves CLOSED to prevent un-controlled fuel transfer into the main transfer system, because that will result in not enough fuel being in the trim tanks and you won't be able to controll the center of gravity. Fuel can be scavenged from the main tanks into the trim tanks, but it's another complicated procedure.

Paul, this a/c had a major glitch butit is sorted out now. The glitch was that it would crash FS9 as soon as it crossed Mach 1. Check out

http://forums.surclaro.com/ftopic5900.html&highlight=concorde

Or else open panel.cfg and delete all lines that have the word "Sonic". You will find 3. (Save a backup of panel.cfg as panel.cfg.old or something first!) It should fly. The other "Sound file ungueltig" error still remains but the a/c will fly perfectly OK.
