Well, hello, I've created my own airport, finally !!! It's really big, and *beep* unreal, but whatever !!
Now, the problem is, I've created some parking- and gate- slots for the aircrafts. But when I choose to start at that place, it seems to be thqt I'm too far from the tower or so, I can't do ATC anymore... (when I pick the parking / gate with Create Flight, I see after chosen the right things, the name of another airport that is in the very near of my own airport.)
How can I fix the problem, so that I can do ATC at that point,....(by the way, also the AI isn't working then, right??? )

That also happened me first time I created a new airport. Have you created it with Afcad, right? If so, open the airport you created and click on Lists/Comm Frequencies and then you can add tower, ground, Atis and other services you want (basically tower, ground and ATIS)... just name those services with your airport name/ICAO and save your airport again. Then start FS and it will be ok..
If you want AI a/c flying on it, you should have TTols and SimpleAI (or other like AITM) to create flight plans from/into your airport. just do a few searches and read all the help files, tuturials or forums related to it and it will be easyer to you.. :)
Hope this helps |

Thanks alot HelioGnr, I already use TTools and AITM, but I had only the Tower, not an Ground and ATIS, and, maybe this could be the problem, my tower was not located in the "middle" of my airport? Should it be in the middle?
Well, I'll give it a try !!!
Many thanks,

There's another strange thing going on, namely:
The airport is really big, and when I'm at a parking slot in the very southwest for example, and I want to departure in the south direction for example, (and the AI aircrafts I've sent also to the south,....) then the tower tells us to go to runway 36, (is that standard or so?? I hate runway 36 !!!!!!!!!!!) , but that runway 36 is in the very northern section of my airport, then why not send me to an other runway somewhere nearby the parking place ?? And 36, (360 degrees) is up north-direction, not south !!!
What to do to fix this stupid runway-assigning ??
Hope Y can help me !

Are you shure you have added a tower in the Lists/Comm Frequencies or have you just added a Viewpoint? cause when you add a tower you cant put the place of it, thereīs just the frequencies.. maybe you added just a viewpoint....
I am also starting to create airports, and dont know about how atc gives instructions to AI or how it works.. Iīm sorry buddy.. :?
letīs see if someone here can help you... |

I still don't know what to do..... The only runway that is ever in use, is the standard runway 36, which I have, but when I (or AI traffic) want to depart to the south or so, then I WON'T use rwy 36 !!! I have added some more frequencies, and yes, also a towerfreq., ATIS, Ground, and Traffic and also a departure-freq. None of the freq's are a copy, so all the freq's have other frequencies, no-one is the same...
So, I don't see what the problm is, really....
AFCAD Readme could tell me a lot, but not the things to solve this problem...
Can anyone help me here?

I'm guessing you have no idea how RWY assignments work, in FS or the real world.
It has nothing to do with frequencies, and ATC isn't to concerned with the convenience of departing from the RWY you're parked closest too.
Next time you start a flight and ATC keeps sending you off to the North, look at your wind direction and speed. If the wind speed is ZERO, the default direction is out of the North, thus causing ATC to assign a northern departure.
If departing to the South is really that big of a deal to you, set the weather to "USER DEFINED", "CUSTOMIZE", and set the wind direction out of the South. |

You can also reconfigure the runway(s) Base/Reciprocal direction to define the 'designated calm wind runway. Then only wind direction will alter which one is in use in ATC. Remember to change 'Heading from Base end' also for it to work right.
Forget flying today - this gusty wind is better foe flying kites |
