| What is the average climb rate after takeoff and what is the average descent rate? |

| There's no specific climb rate for takeoff, you rotate to get the aircraft off the ground, without striking the ground with the tail, and then after retracring gear, you accelerate to Climbout speed, and retract flaps by shedule. All that time, you keep the throttle at same climb power adjusting the pitch to maintain a safe climbout speed. Most of the simmers make a mistake with that, engaging autothrottle right after takeoff, maintaining 250kts, and going up at 1800fps. That's not how it goes. |

Also depends on the individual aircraft. Can't use rates for a 747 on a 172.

Do some research on the following two items:
VX--Best angle of climb.
VY--Best rate of climb.
I could type a paragraph for each of these. However, you will be amazed by what you will learn when you research these and all of the other related items.
Here are a few more to motivate you to do some additional research. 8) 8)
VNE--Never exceed.
VS---Stall Speed
VNO-Maximum Cruise |
