I finally updated my Radeon 7000 64 meg AGP card drivers and used the Omega 2.6.71 file. So after an install of these drivers and a restart I decided to have another look at my video card settings, and tweak up a few features right away. I left Anisotropic filtering off, tried to bump up the antialiasing to 4x samples but this limited me to a lower max. resolution so I went back to 2x and my max res. went back up to 1280 x 1024 from 1024 x 768, O.K. so far. I played with the 'Wait for vertical sync' slider, moving it off of 'Application preference' and I think this is where my trouble started. When I fired up FS2002 my aircrafts lights were rendered about 30 feet below the plane in spot view! Tried another aircraft, same thing, the lights all in the right place respective to each other but flashing away way underneath the aircraft. I eventually got the settings for the card tweaked back and figured that 'Wait for vertical sync' slider was the culprit. I THINK that all was well again after getting that setting back to 'Application preference' but I'm not 100% sure . All is O.K. now but I am curious about that vertical sync setting. Is anyone familiar with this stuff? BTW, I believe that after updating my drivers that my ground textures are a hair sharper, and may even render sooner than before, my framerates aren't any higher I don't think but didn't really expect them to be. Things just seem a bit snappier overall in the graghics. (could be wishful thinking! ) Anyway, thought I'd share the experience and advise changing ONE thing at a time when fooling with settings, it can be a bit unnerving to have your graphics go goofy and not know what you did!

Food for thought...thanks Hark! Yeah, always best to change things one at a time, measure, then change again. Saves a lot of headache in the end...start slow...learn fast..hehehe.
