I have an PNY technologies NVIDIA Verto FX5500. My cpu is a 1.6ghz AMD DURON. My motherboard is a SOYO SY-KT600 Dragon Plus V2.0. My RAM is approximately 1GB. my harddrive is a seagate barracuda 120GB 7200RPM. everytime i play fs2004, everything appears jaggy, well usually the aircraft, but runways and stuff also... when i set the graphcs setting too high, fs2004 encounters errors. PLEASE HELP! THANKS!

You should have a control panel that adjusts the anti-aliasing and anistrophic filtering levels. Those are the main controls you should concentrate on first. The anti-aliasing tool incorporated in FS2004 is very weak, and does not work many times.

I have an ATI with Catalyst drivers installed, so I am obviously not an experienced NVIDIA user.

If you desire the definitions of the terms I used above, http://www.m-w.com is a good resource.

Good luck,

Vincent

First of all it helps if you post your problem in the proper forum. Second, we could spend all year guessing as to what your error was so if you could provide that we can shorten the time it takes to answer your question. Third...your system is at the low end of what FS requires so don't expect miracles. You'll get rid of the jaggies, but only get frame rates of 5 so take your pick...

Check the forum here for all the questions you ask. One of the answers is in a thread right under this one.
Try the settings and note performance and quality at different settings. I don't know what Viche was talking about but a 1.6GHz Duron is like a high-end Pentium III. Don't know why your name has changed...only you can do that.

TFish...just try them out as I said before. Each computer is different and what works on yours might not work on others. Even if they are identical. No one knows what you like to see or not see in FS but yourself. Some people can put up with low FPS and some won't. All depends. Just try them out man...

The title was changed because it is not necessary to put a numerous amount of exclamation marks in your title. It is also unnecessary to type your title in CAPS. The title is in bold. Also, people who are willing to help take a look at the title before clicking on the topic to read. Therefore, it is unneccessary to put a title in caps with exclamation marks.

Don't be so august

P.S. Exx, how can I lock topics? I am not willing to lock this one.

WOW, such a quick reply, almost like a chat room LOL.

The filtering (anistrophic filtering/anti-aliasing) removes jaggies from edges by applying a thin grey shade over the edges. It immensely reduces frame rates and requires a lot of g/card plus cpu power. You should experiment around with your control panel and discover the settings that you desire. That's the only way.

Good luck.

Tropicalfish....

I don't want to sound harsh or abrasive, but you need to start reading the replies to your post. The reason why your topic titles are changed is so the other members of the forum can understand completely the subject matter. This helps them to recognize/understand your problem/question more easily and as a result you'll most likely receive more replies. The only other reason I can imagine is that you persist with the annoying CAPS and explanation marks. THE TOPIC TITLE IS IN BOLD TYPE SO THERE IS NO NEED FOR CAPS OR EXCESSIVE PUNCTUATION!!!!!!!!! I hope this answers your question of "WHI CHANGED MY TITLE AGAIN!!!!?????!!!!????".

Sincerely,

I changed the title TFish to reflect your problem more accurately, to reduce the CAPS and !!!. Don't change it back or find this whole topic deleted. Do a Google search for Netiquette and you'll understand why. Also, read what other people post as suggested by Bman. If you don't, then don't expect people to answer your questions. If you haven't noticed...we don't tolerate certain types of behaviour on this site. If you can't act mature...find another site to aggravate people.

Viche, only Admin/Mods can edit/lock/delete topics. As I am doing with this topic...
