I have been waiting for a relative to give me a hand to reinstall XP on my computer. I have backed up all data files on cd. Now he says all I have to do is use "restore" to "the original configuration". Is that the same as a full reinstall or does it still leave all the junk there?
Thanks folks |

Depends...it restores it to a date you specify...if you set a restore point on that date. So...if the junk was there from day one, any restore point will include that.
It will take a while, but I'd suggest you do a format, and reinstall Xp compeletely. That way you set it up better than before, and it runs better.

Thought so...Not looking forward to this at all. Well I know what I will be doing this weekend....I guess it is worth it as far as the learning is concerned.
Thx Exx... |

Yeah, sorry Richy. It's a good thing though. Your PC will run faster and things will be better...good luck to ya.
