G'day...the Dumb Aussie AGAIN....lol. My question is that Ive just bought a 'NVIDIA" with 128 MB DDR. Is this a good grafics card...It only cost $60 Aus.
Opperating System is....80 Hard Disk
Around 700 + Ram
1:700 something M/HTS....I think

| opps...one more thing....with my old grahics card I don't see the sun and moon cast there shadows on water etc. Thats why Ive invested in the above posts. Is it compatible with DirectX 8.1 graphics things like some of the water effects etc that Ive downloaded. |

The only way to make sure if your card is DX8.1 compatible and able to show reflections is to test it. Under settings>display in FS9 options, yank "water effects" to full. If you see a large difference, you know your card is modernized.
I don't think you should be calling yourself a noob. You're not dumb at all. Take a look at my first post, you'll see how "dumb" it is. You'll prosper if you get on yourself. Enjoy the forums, you'll get answers guaranteed. Don't dishearten. |

Good post Viche! Yes, there will be others posting their advice and experience for you to soak in. Some of our s/s awards have gone to people that are running cards that aren't really considered 'high-end' but they know how to use and tweak them. Look for their responses coming...and know that they got your back...

Forums exist for learning, right? That's why I chose this forum. I have learned oodles of information related to aviation, graphics, and modernization of computers from this very forum. I love it. Thank you everyone for cooperating and making this site the "next century of aviation."

Ive got an NVidia GeForce 6600 (not GT) 256 Mbs graphics card
and a AMD Athlon 3200+ CPU
3x512 Mbs of DDR ram and everything works just fine with all my sliders set to maximum. :) |
